Cantus Portugueses

The Ensemble Cantus Portugueses is an ensemble founded in 2017 and composed mainly of current and former music students of the Cologne University of Music and Dance. Their repertoire consists of original arrangements of traditional Portuguese music. Cantus Portugueses brings well-known melodies and characteristics from different regions of Portugal to the stage. With a personal approach, they carry over folk songs to a different stylistic context, incorporating elements of classical music and the diverse cultural backgrounds of the ensemble members.
